Gymgear’s Pursuit Bike is designed to enhance the performance of beginners and athletes alike. Using the same adjustable air resistance technology as the Blade Rower 2, coupled with an additional magnetic resistance for hill climbing, and when you really want to push yourself to the very limit.
The Smart colour console shows a range performance metrics including watts, and connects to a variety of cycling and fitness apps including, but not limited to: zwift, kinomap, gymtrack, xert, sufferfest, and rgt cycling.
The air-based flywheel on the Pursuit Bike puts the rider in control of intensity at all times. The damper allows the user to adjust the amount of airflow during their ride, to increase or decrease the intensity. The user can increase their power and strength training by adjusting the magnetic resistance on the right-hand side of the flywheel.
The user is able to adjust the magnetic resistance between 1 and 8 levels. Just using the air, the user can mimic 0-15 degrees of incline, add the magnetic too and the user can mimic up to a 35-degree incline.
Pursuit Bike FAQ’s
Q: Can you lose belly fat riding a stationary bike?
A: Yes. Cycling on an indoor bike trainer is a very effective way to reduce belly fat. How many calories you want to burn (300 to 700 kcal per hour) is dependent solely on the intensity of the workout. Steady-state cycling (aerobic training) is very efficient in burning calories but if you want to burn belly fat faster then incorporate HIIT workouts (anaerobic training) into your cycle.
Q: Why should I use the pursuit bike?
A: Cycling has soo many health benefits; increased cardiovascular fitness, increased muscle strength and flexibility, improved joint mobility, decreased stress levels, improved posture and coordination, decreased body fat levels just to name a few. The beauty of this bike is that you can accomplish all of these health benefits without leaving the comfort of your home.
Q: Can you lose weight by cycling indoors?
A: Incorporating indoor cycling into your weight loss journey is excellent for burning calories quickly. Depending on the intensity you can burn more than 600 calories an hour with a stationary indoor bike workout. Burning more calories than you consume is the key to weight loss.
Q: Is 20 minutes a day on an exercise bike enough?
A: If time is of the essence; then a 20 minute HIIT session at least four days a week may be enough exercise to meet the cardiovascular recommendation for physical activity.
Q: Is cycling better than running?
A: Both are amazing for burning calories and losing fat, cycling, however, is gentler on the joints, which might allow you to exercise longer and burn more calories overall.
Q: What should I do on the pursuit bike?
A: We can design you a bespoke HIIT workout from one of our Total Tone Trainers. When you purchase any product from us we can provide you with a workout to fit your fitness level and goals. Once you are signed up, you are also entitled to a free Zoom PT session with a trainer who will take you through your designed workout using the Pursuit Bike.
Q: Why cycle indoors instead of outdoors?
A: We don’t advocate for one over the other as both have great health benefits. Cycling indoors however is much safer, less time consuming, it provides more training variants and most importantly it allows you to blast your workout music to the max with no worries! Oh and let’s be honest, no one wants helmet hair because there’s no need for a helmet indoors.
